Breathing Actually Made a Difference For Me

My run tonight felt really good.  In the past, I've always tried to breathe in about every two steps and breathe out during the next two steps.  Today, I got into a really good rhythm with breathing that actually helped me run faster.  Keeping my breathing in sync with my steps makes me concentrate on my legs more, which sends more disagreeable feelings to my brain.  When I separated my breathing from my gate and only concentrated on the rhythm of my breathing, I noticed I could go faster because I wasn't thinking about the exhaustion in my legs as much.

It would be interesting to see if this technique works for anybody else, or if it's just a Chris thing.  Try it out and let me know...

By the way, I just found a related video so there's some real content to view.
