Stephanie's friend Janel has decided to join us in the relay, and that's great! We're now up to 4 men and 4 women. If we end up with 6 men and 6 women, we can move into the Mixed division to move us up 5 times as high in the division rankings. Currently, the open division (any combination of men and women) has 55 teams, while only 11 teams are signed up in the mixed division. Our bragging rights go way up when we can say we got 5th place in our division instead of 25th.
I don't care how we finish, as long it's not last place because that would be shameful. I do want each of our teammates to give it their best shot in the weeks of training because the results of that training will be well worth it when it comes to the competition.
